The trip goes with the polar-historic, arctic ocean ship "Polarstar", Norway's first seal-catching ship built in steel in 1948, to the famous bird island Runde.
About Runde bird island
The island is a popular departure town all year round, but is especially interesting in summer due to the vibrant bird life. During the season, there are around 100,000 seabirds on the island, most of them living on the bird rock. Runde is one of many islands in the archipelago "Sørøyane" southwest of Ålesund. It is the southernmost bird mountain in Norway, and the largest bird island south of the Arctic Circle.
