With MS Bergensfjord, from Hirtshals to Stavanger and Bergen, you'll get directly to the Fjords of Norway and the famous Norwegian fjords. Between Stavanger and Bergen, the two capital cities on the west coast, you will sail on the fjords in between mountains and close to the glaciers. On the voyage, you can enjoy a good meal, or relax in one of the bars, as you plan your trip around the spectacular fjords in Norway.
Randaberg, just outside Stavanger, offers beautiful scenery, or pay a visit to Solastranden, which has been named one of the world's most beautiful beaches of the Sunday Times. A day-trip to the Pulpit Rock, a mountain plateau 604 meters above sea level, is rewarded with beautiful views of the Lysefjord.
In Bergen, you can visit the Edvard Grieg museum at Troldhaugen, The Aquarium, or just walk along Bryggen with its history-rich tradition. The funicular takes you to Fløyen, one of the cities overlooking tops, where there are a number of roads and trails to explore.
Fjord Line Express, from Hirtshals to Kristiansand, is the fastest way from Denmark to Norway. The journey takes only 2 hours and 15 minutes! On board you will find a restaurant, cafe and tax free shop. If you select arrival in Kristiansand, and are traveling with children, The Animal Park could be a strategic first peak. On your way to Fjord Norway – let the sea coast route that follows the coast from Kristiansand to Trondheim, via Stavanger and Bergen, be a preference.
Along the way you will meet charming coastal cities and the world famous fjords. You can fish cod in the sea or salmon and sea trout in the rivers.
You can also head for the mountains and Europe's largest mountain plateau, Hardangervidda, where Vøringsfossen marks the abrupt transition from the plateau to the valley and the fjord in Hardanger. Rv 7 between Halne in the Hardangervidda and Steindalsfossen west of Norheimsund is classified as a national tourist route.
To get both worlds; drive along the coast on your way north, and take the trip over the mountains on your way back.
