Aurlandsdalen, the Aurland Valley, with its rich and scenic fauna, the wild river winding through the landscape, and stunning views to the fjords and mountains.
One of Norway's most beautiful hikes starts on the mountain plateau
Hardangervidda. The first part goes through Skarvheimen with its barren
mountains, and then down the Aurland valley through the lush valleys and
a rich cultural landscape. At the end of your trip you will end up down
by the Aurland Fjord. Hiking this route will give you a close up
experience of some of the beautiful variations the fjord region has to
offer. The contrasts in the landscape are amazing - from a barren rocky
landscape to green flourishing valleys, majestic mountains to roaring
rapids. It is recommended that you use three to four days on this trip
from Finse to Flåm. But if you take the bus from the cabin Geiteryggen
to Østerbø you can do the trip in only two days.
