This tour links the village Stranda with Øye, where the Norangs valley meets
the Hjørund fjord. This is a hike in the alpine mountains of spectacular Sunnmøre Alps.
The trail goes through easy terrain in a green valley, with high peaks on all
sides.
The cabin Patchellhytta is a spacious self-service hut, which is staffed during
the summer months. Consider staying at the cabin for a few days to conquer some
of the most beautiful mountains in the area. Slogen with its 1564 meters above
sea level is a spectacular mountain with fantastic views of the panoramic view
of peaks and the wonderfull Hjørund fjord.
The last day of the trip goes down a steep forest hillside to Øye. Here you
should treat yourself to a stay at Hotel Union Øye, one of the finest
historic hotels in the country. This tour can be combined with a trip to
Hellesylt, Geiranger, Åndalsnes and to Ålesund - or you can take a cruise in the
Hjørund fjord to Ålesund. Both Hellesylt and Ålesund provide good bus
connections back to Stranda.
