the shore of the fjords, exploring the mountains on skis.

By boat you have fast and easy access to the many mountains
of the region, and even better, you may ascend them from an angle with
untracked snow. It is also a very eco-friendly way of travelling. If the
conditions are right, you can attach the skis at waterlevel.
The concept of
sail and ski started out in the Lyngen Alps in Northern Norway. A fantastic
area, but it is harder to get to and the weather can be harsher than in the
Fjord Norway region.
Several guiding companies in Fjord Norway have established ski and sail
product over the last few years, and international guests and tour operators
are slowly starting to discover the qualities of this unique skiing experience.
Please do also note that a similar product is also available in summer, then
replacing skiing with hiking.
