Trashmetal, Grieg, folk music or electronic music? The music scene in Western Norway is full of madness, finesse, feeling and rythm. The last few years, many important, international artists have held concerts here. Most of the cities, in particular Bergen and Stavanger, have a teeming cultural life. Molde and Haugesund are specialised in jazz. Nordfjord and Kristiansund have a strong tradition for opera, while each year in Førde a world music festival takes place.
