The West coast is the homeplace of some of Norways most exciting and innovative artists in a great variety of musical genres. We give you an introduction to a few of them.

Trashmetal, Grieg, folk music or electronic music? The music scene in Western Norway is full of madness, finesse, feeling and rythm. The last few years, many important, international artists have held concerts here. Most of the cities, in particular Bergen and Stavanger, have a teeming cultural life. Molde and Haugesund are specialised in jazz. Nordfjord and Kristiansund have a strong tradition for opera, while each year in Førde a world music festival takes place.
