Experience this living and hospitable community on the car-free Røvær. The island is only a short boat trip from Haugesund centre. On the island there are approximately 100 inhabitants, a school, kindergarten, a shop, a hotel, a summer open café and a hostel. The boat has 6-7 daily departures to/from Haugesund. Røvær has traditionally earned its living from farming, seafaring and fishing.
Røvær Youth and Family Hostel is situated in the harbour at Røvær, as close as you can get to the sea. On the western part of the island – just a short walk from the hostel – you can experience the mighty North Sea Ocean; an unforgettable memory. You can also try salt water fishing from the shore, with the proper equipment available for rent at the hostel.
