Balestrand Youth and Family Hostel is placed in the centre of Balestrand with an excellent view over the “Sognefjord”.

Tourism in Balestrand builds upon long traditions. There are good opportunities for fishing and mountain hiking and the hostel is a good starting point for excursions to “Jostedalsbreen”(the largest glacier in Norway) and other attractions in the area. Balestrand has several art galleries and historical sights. The hostel has also recently built an activity centre by the fjord. Aquariums, models and a slide show illustrate life in the Sognefjord. There is folk music and outdoor activities, e.g. barbeque and fishing.

The hostel offers different kinds of accommodation; single, double, and family rooms. Single bed in a multi-bedded room (sharing with people of the same sex) is also available. Good self catering facilities
