Ålesund was rebuilt after the town fire in 1904, and the town is today one of only 3 European towns with the magnificent Jugend architecture. There is a rich variety of sights to take in when you visit Ålesund; the picturesque fishing harbour “Brosundet”, boat life among the street Skansegata, the breathtaking view over fjord, mountains and the ocean from “Fjellstua” at the Aksla Mountain, the open air museum “Sunnmore Friluftsmuseum” in Borgundgavlen, Aalesunds Museum and the Aquarium.
