Anita Valderhaug m/gjester

On the last Saturday before Christmas, tension can start to creep in—there’s a bit too much on your mind, and a long list of things you meant to get done. But remember: you can only do so much. Put down your shopping bags, relax your shoulders, and breathe easy as Anita Valderhaug and Parken Kulturhus invite you to find some Christmas calm through exquisite music.

Anita Valderhaug is bringing a top-tier ensemble to Parken Kulturhus for the evening. It promises to be a concert that helps you unwind, featuring Bjørnar Myhr on the grand piano. He is arranging the music for a velvety lineup that includes Jo Fougner Skaansar on double bass, Liv Hilde Klokk-Bryht on violin, and Torun Sæter Stavseng on cello. Liv Hilde and Torun are two of Ålesund’s great musical treasures; among other things, they perform together in the Chamber Orchestra.

In recent years, Anita Valderhaug has been busy performing and working on various projects—most notably one where she sings fado set to her own lyrics in dialect. She is currently active with the Oslo-based band Folk og Røvere, and the pop band Nansy is also making music again.

"Close your eyes" and drift along with this Christmas-themed concert featuring Anita, Bjørnar, Liv Hilde, Jo, and Torun.
