Nordvegen History Centre is organising an autumn holiday event on Wednesday 7 October from 10.00 to 16.00. In addition to the regular activities, the film and the exhibitions, there will be a special focus on ships and ship burials on this day.
One of the reasons for this is the archaeological investigation of the Grønhaug ship burial, which was carried out this summer for the first time in over a hundred years.
Learn about the ship burial sites on Karmøy
As part of the exhibition, there will be a special talk tailored for primary school children. Here, participants will learn more about Grønhaug and the two other ship burial sites on Karmøy, Storhaug and Salhushaugen.
Throughout the day, there will also be several exciting and educational activities on themes such as ships, ship burials and archaeology. The activities will take place both in the exhibition and in the classroom.
Free entry for children
There is free entry for children during the autumn half-term at Nordvegen History Centre.
The café will be open, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
