THE GREAT CHRISTMAS PLAY
It wouldn't be Christmas without the Christmas play in Julebygda. For the 15th time, we will tell the heart-warming story of Mary and Joseph on their way across Jæren on Christmas Eve.
The performances are held outdoors in the evenings in December, when the weather helps to make this an exotic experience. It is fantastic to experience theatre outdoors and feel the interaction between the external and the internal, between action and weather. The audience sits on a covered grandstand and the actors are on an open-air stage.
The play was written by Arnt Olav Klippenberg, who also composed the music together with Øystein Ellingsen and Ingvar Hovland.
The leading roles are played by Anh Vu, Ole Alexander Mæland, Tone Salomonsen and Pål Magnor Kvammen. In addition, there are nearly 40 amateur actors on stage. The director is Torfinn Nag.
After the performance, the audience is invited into the warm Julebygda chapel, where the Christmas spirit is guaranteed to take hold.
In connection with the play, there is a wonderful Christmas market selling local products. The market is open one hour before the performance and after it ends.
The venue is only a seven-minute drive from Sandnes city centre.
The play will be held in Norwegian.
