In March 2026, Elin Furubotn will release her tenth album, Det nære (The Close) – an honest portrait of life that is vulnerable, humorous and authentic. On stage, she is accompanied by Bugge Wesseltoft on keyboards and Nils Økland on Hardanger fiddle and violin. Together, they explore an expression where folk, jazz and folk music meet in a warm and playful soundscape.
A musical universe full of intimacy
With guitar and accordion, Furubotn weaves an expression based on improvisation and presence. The beloved guest Mandskoret av 1914 from Haugesund further elevates the concert with their distinctive power.
Strong lyrics and everyday observations
Furubotn writes about the small and big aspects of life, often with a sidelong glance and a mixture of humour and seriousness. Her lyrics contain reflection and recognition, and have made her a radio-friendly voice with many NRK listings since 2008, including the song Så lett det kan ver in collaboration with Morten Abel and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
An evening where music creates a meeting point
She herself describes the moment between the stage and the audience as one of the most important aspects of music. With roots in Sveio and a long career in both Norway and Germany, where she received the Indie Acoustic Award for two albums, she takes the audience on a concert experience characterised by warmth, strong melodies and her distinctive voice.
