Svein Tindberg is back at Rogaland Theatre with the successful production Esau and Jacob – a strong, timely, and gripping monologue about war, forgiveness, and brotherly conflict. The performance played to full houses the last time it visited Stavanger, and now the audience gets a new opportunity to experience this powerful biblical story on stage.
With only one actor, a couple of stools, and a text that hits straight to the heart, Tindberg creates great theatre with small means. The story of Esau and Jacob – two brothers who struggle for love, identity, and a place in the world – is one of the oldest source texts in our culture, and just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.
The performance weaves together biblical history, personal experiences, and humor, giving a warm, human, and thought‑provoking insight into how conflicts arise between those who stand closest to each other. Esau and Jacob is a collaboration between the Norwegian Bible Society and Victoria Productions.
