This event is part of the Tall Ship Festival in Sirevåg, which runs throughout the day. Entertainment includes live music from BigKjell and the first-ever visit to Sirevåg by the Dutch tall ship Thalassa.
BigKjell (Kjell Mathisen) has made a living as a professional musician since 1990, performing at pubs, restaurants, shopping centres and venues across Norway.
In 1987, Kjell became Northern Norway's rock champion with the band Spirits from Vadsø. In 1992, he won the Norwegian Country Championship with Four Roses, also from Vadsø. The band later served as the backing band for artists including Ottar "Big Hand" Johansen, Teddy Nelson and Lillian Askeland.
After moving to Oslo, Kjell has toured extensively across eastern and western Norway, performing around 250 concerts each year. With a repertoire of more than 500 songs, he is known for entertaining audiences of all ages and tastes, placing particular emphasis on sing-alongs and well-loved classics.
