ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:
Artists in the exhibition: Anna Carin Hedberg, Ebba Moi, Hanna Sjöstrand, Linda Lamignan, Lisa Torell, Pierre Matte, Simon Daniel Tegnander Wenzel, Siri Austeen, Tove Kommedal
The artists have worked closely with the landscape of Sokndal, drawing from personal encounters with dramatic landscape interventions caused by mining. Since launching the program in 2023, they have had the opportunity to meet researchers, local residents, and representatives from the mining industry, all of whom have contributed to a rich and nuanced understanding of the situation in the Sokndal region.
With this foundation of impressions and perspectives—combined with their own references and strong artistic practices—they have created works that together form a multifaceted exhibition around the theme WASTE / DEPOSIT.
The exhibition includes sound art, installation, painting, video, performance, sculpture and workshops. The works are presented both indoors and outdoors at Sandbekk, with a dedicated section at Jøssingfjord Vitenmuseum. In addition to the works by our visual artists, the exhibition also includes contributions from researchers and local experts.
The exhibition is open during weekends all summer from the 6th of june until the 30th of August, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 - 15 !
