What happens when the peace of a burial mound is disturbed?
The sagas contain many stories of people breaking into burial mounds in search of valuable objects and treasures. According to the sagas, the mound-dweller – the dead body – awakens and attacks the intruders. Rather like a zombie film.
The story of the opening of a royal burial mound from Karmøy is at the heart of this talk.
