On Sunday 1 February, Haugesund Tourist Association and Barnas Turlag (Children's Touring Club) will mark the 20th anniversary of Get Out Day with outdoor birthday celebrations in Sveio, Haugesund and Karmøy. The events are free and open to everyone, offering a real birthday atmosphere out in nature.
This is happening in Haugalandet
Barnas Turlag in Haugesund, Karmøy and Sveio invites you to a celebration from 12:00 to 14:00. Children can make birthday crowns, grill sausages over a campfire, participate in a hiking quiz and take part in a prize draw. The activities are designed for play, exercise and community in a safe environment.
20 years of simple hiking fun
Get Out Day is Norway's biggest hiking day and is organised throughout the country by DNT. The anniversary is being marked with a focus on local and accessible outdoor activities, where short trips can provide great experiences. The Children's Hiking Club wants to show how easy it is to use the local environment and to inspire low-threshold activities that everyone can participate in.
Free event – everyone is welcome
All events are free and open to everyone. At the same time, the organisers hope that more people will support their work by becoming members of DNT. Barnas Turlag offers trips, games and activities for families with children aged 0–12, with the aim of facilitating good nature experiences and an active outdoor life.
