Great Tide lives by Keith Richards’ philosophy: “Solos come and go, but riffs stay forever.” When they released their debut album in 2024, Musikknyheter wrote: “Quality, quality and more quality. Great Tide do not play around, they refine.” Stavanger Aftenblad stated that they “make music great again.”
Great Tide is an energetic, high voltage and loud rock band. In a short time, they have released the EP Shadow People and the critically acclaimed debut album Daywatcher. With top reviews and scores of 5 and 6, they are now ready to raise the bar once more.
2025 will be a year of new releases leading to a new album. So far, two singles have been released, with more arriving steadily through the autumn, ahead of the full album after the New Year. Great Tide also won Kaizers Orchestra’s band cup in May and opened for Kaizers in Stavanger in September.
Great Tide consists of:
Jonas Paulsen
Odin Landbakk
Andreas Utne Friestad
Vemund Strypet
Support: SHFFL
SHFFL describes itself as an “indie band, for the lack of a better word.” They deliver reflective lyrics and music strongly inspired by the 1970s. On 12 September 2025, they released their debut album for someone, inspired by the warmth and shared thoughts of cosy bars.
