Experience the former Salhus Tricotagefabrik (1859–1989) and learn more about the clothing production that once took place here. Feel the carded wool between your fingers, hear the noise of the machines, and take in the smells of the old factory rooms.
Join a guided tour through the factory's production line – from raw wool to finished garments.
The tour begins in the carding/spinning department, then continues to the spool loft, the knitting loft, and the sewing loft. Along the way, the guide will demonstrate several of the production machines.
Practical information
The tour lasts approximately 40 minutes and normally runs every Sunday except during Easter and public holidays, starting from March 1.
A ticket to the tour includes admission to Galleri Salhus, and you can also watch the film "Once Upon a Time There Was a Factory..."
