Festiviteten and Haugesund Theatre present ‘Him igjen’ from 1 to 25 October. The production has been created to mark important milestones in the town’s theatrical and cultural history.
A story from the 1980s
The plot is set in the mid-1980s. The main character, Eddie, also known as Endre, returns home after several years in Manchester. His dream was a major musical career, but his reunion with his hometown turns out differently than expected.
Local roots and new drama
The script was written by Rolf Kristian Larsen, and the production is a tribute to Haugesund and the people who live there. The story reflects both longing, a sense of belonging and life in a coastal town in south-western Norway.
Music and relationships
The narrative is enhanced by music from Haugalandet and the relationships between the characters, particularly between Eddie and Oddny. Their interaction lends the production both warmth and moments of recognition.
A production about coming home
‘Him igjen’ offers the audience a theatrical experience steeped in local identity, period colour and a story of returning home – and finding one’s place.
