INTIMATE CONCERT with BRITT-SYNNØVE JOHANSEN
Britt-Synnøve has a deep love for French chansons. She adores Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Charles Trenet, Barbara, Charles Aznavour, and all the other great French song legends. There is something about the way these songs are sung, and something about the melodies and lyrics—songs that simply are no longer being written.
Britt-Synnøve also loves performing these songs and is known for her interpretations and translations of Edith Piaf’s repertoire (“Mot himmelen i Paris”, 2002). In this concert, she will, together with the outstanding pianist Idar Hauge, present a wide selection of French melodies perfectly suited to her voice.
Britt-Synnøve firmly believes that the distance between France and Norway is shorter than maps suggest. Together with Idar, she aims to convince the audience of this in a concert that speaks to both heart and stomach. This may include her own songs from the French-inspired albums “MØRK SALONG” (2022) and “Kveldslys” (2026), but above all traditional French chansons translated into her own western Norwegian dialect.
Piano: Idar Hauge
Norwegian lyrics: Britt-Synnøve Johansen
