PETER NORDBERG
Peter Nordberg is an exceptionally accomplished live performer. Many would even say that listening to his music on streaming services simply does not do justice to the extraordinary musical expression and ability he brings to the stage.
As well as being a highly productive and skilled songwriter, he has a voice and stage presence that create euphoric experiences for his audience. Peter delivers everything from understated, beautifully melancholic songs and melodies to punch, rhythm and expansive arrangements that few can match – using nothing but his voice and a single guitar. Add a well-developed sense of humour and a natural ability to connect with the audience, and you have a first-class live experience.
BIO
Stockholm-born Peter Nordberg was just 19 when he signed his first record deal – in Italy, of all places – but it is primarily in Norway that he has found success. His solo debut, Tiden Visar Vägen, was released by Stavanger-based label Skarv in 1999. It was followed by five further albums under his own name, as well as three albums with former Vamp vocalist Vidar Johnsen.
Their collaboration resulted in both gold and platinum records, a Spellemann Award nomination and numerous radio hits. The Johnsen/Nordberg duo established a strong live reputation through many years of loyal and extensive touring. In summer 2012, they supported The Eagles at Viking Stadium in Stavanger.
Since then, Nordberg has taken his distinctive blend of percussive singer-songwriter traditions and modern Scandinavian folk to clubs and festivals across the USA.
A great night of music awaits at #GOE Helg sports and music bar. During the evening, we will hear songs from both his solo albums and his time with Johnsen/Nordberg.
