With Kjelleren (The Cellar), Jo Strømgren Kompani invites the audience into a disturbing universe. Here we meet a woman in a morgue – and as the dead body comes to life, an intense and narrative dance begins.
This is a performance where violence, suffering and dark themes are combined with captivating dance and powerful stage images. Through movement and theatre, the audience follows four women on a journey through time and space, in the borderland between dream and nightmare.
