On Friday 3 October, Ranes released his second album – an honest and ambitious project that has struck a chord with fans. Now the songs are coming to life on stage with Verdens beste band (The World's Best Band) backing him up.
Music with punch, vulnerability and honesty
On the new album, the 23-year-old shows a more mature side of himself. He writes about love, loneliness, artificial intelligence and finding one's place in the world – with both humour and reflection. The music draws inspiration from both folk pop and classic rock, in the spirit of Håkan Hellström and Stein Torleif Bjella.
From UNDERGRUNN to solo artist
Jon Ranes first became known as part of the rap group UNDERGRUNN before making his debut as a solo artist with the album Loverboy in 2022. The song ‘Blod’ became one of the most played songs of the year in Norway, and Ranes cemented his position as one of the country's most exciting talents.
