Lorenzo, fronted by Kristiansund natives and songwriters Robert Holm (keyboards) and Stein Bjercke (vocals), is making a huge comeback with a release concert for the EP “Different Kinds of Blue” at Kulturfabrikken on Friday, March 20.
They have a wonderful group of musicians on the team: Kyrre Sætran (bass), Lars Lien (keyboards/choir/bass), Hans Frønes (guitar) and Freddy Bolsø (drums).
The indie rock band Lorenzo had radio hits like “Late Night Déjà Vu” and “No More Lolitas” on, among others, P3 and P1 in the early 2000s. They released two albums and two EPs before the songwriter duo Stein Bjercke and Robert Holm moved on and formed the side project The New Virginity in 2010. Lorenzo toured all over the country at the time. They played at the Øya Festival in 2003 and had concerts in England.
Now Bjercke and Holm have brushed the dust off Lorenzo and are currently working on a new album together with producers Morten Øby (Team Me, Hilma Nikolaisen, etc.) and Lars Lien (Motorpsycho, etc.). The latter was also behind the controls on their debut album "Lorenzo Is Dead" from 2003.
The result of the collaboration with Øby and Lien is a wonderful mix of baroque pop and indie rock. Vocalist Stein Bjercke has also made a name for himself in recent years with the rock'n'roll band Stein And The Fury. Keyboardist Robert Holm is working on his first solo album, where he also does the vocals. The songwriting duo Bjercke/Holm is looking forward to celebrating their new release at Kulturfabrikken with a good selection of both new and old songs.
Supporting this evening will be Hans Frønes
