Zum Hauptinhalt

The concert is based on an exploration of Norwegian sounds and traditions. In the rehearsal room, the ensemble’s sound has taken on a more distinctly Norwegian character, particularly since Munor began incorporating the Hardanger fiddle into their work.

Two musical traditions side by side

Norwegian music has developed through two main traditions: classical art music and folk music. These have emerged in different environments, but have existed in parallel and at times influenced one another.

Norwegian musical language and cultural heritage

Norway is internationally recognised for its composers and its distinctive musical language. At the same time, folk music represents a unique cultural heritage, where the use of instruments, ornamentation and oral tradition have contributed to a unique expression.

Collaboration during the festive month of May

In collaboration with Haugesunds spelemannslag and Tysvær mixed choir, Munor invites you to a concert with a Norwegian flavour. The event takes place at Tysværtunet in May, which is considered Norway’s festive month.
