MelLeffi is a newly formed band that plays ‘Smooth Jazz’, an ear-friendly type of jazz rock that originated on the west coast of the United States in the 1980s and 1990s. The band consists of musicians from Bryne and Stavanger. On bass we have Øystein Eldøy, well known in the local community from, among other things, the Stavanger Ensemble. Dag Årsland plays piano, who has recently made a name for himself with Dag Årsland's jazz quartet on stage in the Stavanger area. Leiv Arve Lagestrand = Leffi plays drums, known from Jærrock and Ållveltes, among others. The guitar is played by Ole Helmer Sjo = Melle, who lives in Fredrikstad and has appeared in Bryne with both Dag and Leffi in ‘Dei Heimvende’, a band that has given sporadic concerts in Bryne over the last 10 years. You have probably figured out the origin of the name by now, and it is unique!
