The museum relay, with a slanted view of history, goes to Wrangellhuset.
Museum director Mads Ramstad gives a lecture on shipowners Hanna Brummenæs and Bertha Torgersen. Together, they started what would become Haugesund's fourth largest shipping company, Brummenæs & Torgersen. They bought their first steamship in 1909, and their ships eventually sailed all over the world. The story of the shipowners – also known as the ‘mannedamene’ (man women) – takes place at the same time as Haugesund developed into Norway's fourth largest maritime city.
