Hands have perhaps always been humankind’s most important tools. They have provided care, cultivated the land, woven cloth, built towns and waged war. Yet manual labour has also been looked down upon, and even regarded as a punishment from God. What is the status of manual labour and craftsmanship today? And, not least, what is the future of our hands?
