Ole Edvard Antonsen og Aalesunds Ungdomsmusikkorps

He is one of the world's leading trumpet soloists and one of Norway's absolute biggest international stars in the music scene.

Ole Edvard Antonsen has been a soloist on the largest concert stages in more than 40 countries. He has premiered over 50 works written especially for him. His remarkable versatility as a musician means that he is just as happy to work with symphony orchestras and bands as with pop, rock and jazz musicians, and now we at Aalesund Youth Music Band have been so lucky that he has accepted the invitation to collaborate with us!

The concert will consist of two sections.

In the first section, Aalesund Youth Music Band will perform its own pieces, and Ole Edvard Antonsen will contribute as a soloist. We have engaged Stefan Bocken as conductor. He is currently a music teacher at Vestnes Kulturskole, plays the clarinet as his instrument and conducts several bands and ensembles in the region.

The second section is dedicated to the concert performance "Musical Landscapes" that Ole Edvard Antonsen has developed over more than 20 years. Here, together with his own band and the choir, he will take the audience on a journey through a number of musical moods in different genres. In his unique way, he shows the great breadth he stands for musically, through strongly rhythmic and evocative experiences in his own compositions such as "Vidda" and the virtuoso technical pieces "Mikkel" and "Mario", to the more melancholic, calm and atmospheric.

Several of these compositions form the basis for the CD recording "Landscapes" that came out in 2007 and sold gold.

Many have said that listening to Ole Edvard Antonsen's music is like seeing the images of a film that has not yet been produced!
