About the singers
Erlend Jåsund is a Norwegian bass-baritone from Bærum. He holds a Master’s degree in Classical Singing from the University of Stavanger, where he studied with Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz. Erlend has performed roles including Masetto (Don Giovanni), Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro), Zuniga (Carmen), Simone (Gianni Schicchi) and Colline (La bohème), as well as taking part in productions with Opera Rogaland, Opera Østfold, Operafest Røykenvik and international festivals in Italy.
Jåsund has also attended a number of international masterclasses and developed a strong connection with the Italian operatic tradition.
Mattis Holthe Møll Austrheim is a Norwegian baritone from Bærum. He holds Master’s degrees from both the University of Stavanger and Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where he studied with Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz.
Austrheim has already performed roles including Don Giovanni, the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, Eugene Onegin and Gianni Schicchi. He has worked with, among others, The Norwegian National Opera, Opera Rogaland, Teatro Verdi di Salerno and the Viterbo International Opera Festival, as well as giving several concerts for Opera til folket in Oslo. Austrheim, too, has a strong connection to the Italian operatic tradition.
About the pianist
Stefan Ibsen Zlatanos (b. 1984) was born and raised in a musical family and is said to have learnt the name Bach before he could speak. He began piano lessons at the age of five and later studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Liv Glaser, as well as at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Galina Iwansowa.
According to colleagues, Zlatanos is a versatile, expressive and intuitively musical pianist. He is a sought-after performer, known for his broad stylistic range, with a repertoire spanning classical music and chamber music to jazz, contemporary music and folk music from various cultures, as well as more popular genres.
Alongside his performing career, he composes his own works and creates arrangements of existing music. He made his recording debut in 2015, and his recordings are also available on Spotify. Zlatanos also has a background as a singer, having undertaken several years of vocal studies, and is an experienced choir conductor and organist.
He holds a Master’s degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music, with further studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. His musical career has taken him to countries including Greece, Spain, Italy, Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Ireland, England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and the USA.
