Orbits – Åpningskonsert

There is great anticipation when Orbits opens Stormjazz 2026 in the foyer of Parken Cultural Center. The trio, consisting of Ålesund girl Natalie on vocals, composer and producer Erlend and multi-instrumentalist Lars, has in a short time made a name for itself as one of the most exciting new names in modern jazz.

The trio has in a short time made a name for itself as one of the most exciting new bands on the modern jazz scene, and this will be their first meeting with the audience in Ålesund for Orbits.

With vocals, electronics and acoustic elements, Orbits weaves a soundscape that is both detailed and immediate. The music moves between the groove-based and the open, with an interplay that constantly drives the expression forward. There are danceable parts, but also room for calm and reflection – contrasts that give the concert both direction and dynamics.

The band has received wide recognition, including through NOPA's music award in 2025, and has been praised for their ability to combine high musicianship with a clear and unique expression. Live, this is experienced as a dense and energetic concert format, where the audience is actively drawn into the music. This spring they were nominated for the Spellemann and Natalie was awarded the state artist grant.

As the opening concert, Orbits sets the tone for Stormjazz - with an expression that is both challenging and engaging, and which gives the audience an immediate entrance to the festival's musical universe.

The concert takes place in the foyer of Parken Cultural Center, with both standing and seated audiences close to the stage. It is recommended to arrive early if you want a seat.
