Has it become a bit much of a quiz? There are quizzes at the pub, quizzes with friends, quizzes everywhere. We meet, divide into teams and try to answer correctly. But what really happens when the quiz is over, everyone goes home, and the conversation never had time to start?
In I Have Some Questions we meet a woman, played by Sara Fellman, who would like to join in. She wants to be social. She wants to make it happen. But she is often left with the feeling that she can't quite find her place, either on the team or in life.
We meet a 38-year-old woman who has finally finished knitting a sweater after 25 years. She is single, childless and feels that everyone else has moved on in life while she herself is standing still. To fill her days with something other than pondering, quizzes and existential crises, she starts playing the drums. Because she is not a knitting lady. She thinks. When she returns home, old memories and questions begin to surface. How did life get like this? And who are you really when you both long to be taken care of and at the same time want to be the one who takes care of others?
Because the questions she is really looking for answers to are about something else.
About belonging. About finding your place.
And about everything we carry around, but don't always get to say out loud.
I Have Some Questions is a monologue that plays with stand-up, poetry and music. A performance for anyone who has ever felt the need to belong.
