The concert presents a new arrangement of Frank Zappa’s album *Hot Rats* (1969), created by Ian Anderson. Here, the music is presented in an acoustic chamber setting, with a focus on rhythm, structure and detail.
Music and new choreography
The programme combines works by Frank Zappa, Steve Reich and Sergei Rachmaninov. Kompani Haugesund contributes a new choreography to Steve Reich’s ‘Drumming’, performed by the ensemble’s dancers.
International musicians on stage
The festival’s own musicians, both Norwegian and international, take part in the concert. The ensemble playing is characterised by an exploratory approach with a focus on precision and musicality.
