Ornate Saturation is a whirl of a three-headed creature that twists itself inside out, swings, ornaments, delights, carves, destroys and brings itself back to life.
The performance explores the idea that sensory overload leads to numbness – by bombarding the senses with fragmented impressions, modern technology ‘sedates’ the organism. The performance emerges from the murky spaces within this overload – not born from clarity, but from the cognitive and bodily sludge left in the wake of information saturation. Out of this disorienting fog, a landscape takes shape – one created in the aftermath of sensory exhaustion.
Performed by three dancers, Ornate Saturation is the second work in the choreographic series STUPOR.
