On Wednesday 28 October, the Riksteatret theatre company will be performing ‘Apestjernen’ (Monkey star) at Festiviteten, based on Frida Nilsson’s popular children’s book. The play tells the story of nine-year-old Jonna, who lives in a children’s home and dreams of having a family.
An unexpected mum
Life takes a surprising turn when a gorilla turns up to adopt her. Jonna isn’t sure what to make of her new guardian and has to find out whether first impressions really tell the whole truth.
Humour, warmth and imagination
The production combines humour, imagination and strong emotions in a story about friendship, care and family ties. Through colourful characters and engaging scenes, the audience experiences a tale that both entertains and moves.
Family production from Riksteatret
In the role of Jonna, the audience meets Ina Svenningdal, alongside an ensemble that brings the story’s many characters to life. The theatre version has been adapted by Jenny Svensson and produced by Riksteatret.
Suitable for children aged 5 and over
‘Apestjernen’ is a show for the whole family and is recommended for children aged 5 and over.
