What happens when safety disappears both at home and outside? Riksteatret and Det norske Teatret presents a raw, honest and shocking performance based on a true story, told by the younger sister of one of Sweden's most dangerous gang leaders.
Based on the critically acclaimed book by Faysa Idle
" Ord for blod (A Word for Blood)" is based on the powerful autobiographical book "Ord for Blod" by Faysa Idle. Through Faysa's eyes, we gain insight into a reality characterised by violence, fear, loyalty and loss, but also love, unity and hope. Close friends and family members are on opposite sides of a brutal gang war, and she has lost count of how many she has lost. Now her story is told on stage.
A performance that affects us all
The performance raises important questions: What does gang violence do to those in the midst of it? What does it mean to be a woman in a masculine and brutal world? And how can we as a society meet young people with care, before it's too late? Faysa's story opens up conversations that we should all take part in, no matter who we are or where we live.
How long does "Ord for blod" last?
The performance lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes (without a break).
