With a career now spanning six decades, Robyn Hitchcock remains a truly unique artist – a surrealist rock ’n’ roller, iconic troubadour, guitarist, poet, painter and captivating stage presence. As an exceptional and deeply individualistic songwriter and musical innovator, Hitchcock has moved through a wide range of genres with humour, intelligence and originality.
He has more than 30 albums to his name and a seemingly endless number of live performances. From The Soft Boys’ proto-psychedelic punk and The Egyptians’ Dadaist pop to solo masterpieces such as the landmark I Often Dream of Trains (1984) and Eye (1990), Hitchcock has created a strikingly original body of work filled with sharp observations, dry wit and countless characters – both real and imagined.
There is plenty to look forward to when experiencing him live and solo at Tungenes Lighthouse!
