Pianist Rune Alver has enjoyed a distinguished career, performing the music of Edvard Grieg for many years at Troldhaugen, the Edvard Grieg Museum. He has appeared in concert throughout Europe, as well as in the United States, China, Russia and South Africa.
Alver regularly collaborates with musicians, actors and visual artists in both traditional and experimental productions. His extensive discography includes critically acclaimed recordings of the complete piano works of David Monrad Johansen (1888–1974), Johannes Rivertz (1902–1988) and Signe Lund (1868–1950), alongside music by Grieg, Schumann, Chopin and Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen.
