Sirdalslåmi invites participants to a unique cross-country skiing experience set in the beautiful winter landscape of Sirdal – a new ski race that brings together local businesses, cabin owners and ski enthusiasts for a day filled with activity, nature and great atmosphere. The event is organised by Gjesdal IL and Tonstad IL, with both the start and finish located at Sinnes School.
Participants can choose between two course options, both skied in the classic style. The shorter course of around 17 kilometres is a recreational class without timing, ideal for those who want to enjoy a scenic ski tour at their own pace. For those looking for a greater challenge, a longer course of approximately 27 kilometres is available, offering both a recreational class and a competitive class. The routes take skiers through Sirdal’s scenic terrain, across open stretches and further into the mountains before returning to the finish area at Sinnes School.
The long course starts at 11:00, while the short course begins at 11:05. A refreshment station will be available along the route, and all finishers will be welcomed with food and drinks at the finish area. The event also creates a social meeting point, with changing facilities and a large heated tent at the finish area featuring music and the opportunity to purchase food and drinks throughout the day.
The evening continues with an AfterSki event at Fjellstua for those who wish to extend the experience. The programme includes a DJ, a lively atmosphere and a concert by Trang Fødsel, well known for creating an energetic and festive mood.
Sirdalslåmi is more than a ski race – it is a winter day filled with community, achievement and memorable experiences in the magnificent surroundings of Sirdal.
