After sunshine, storms and a few unavoidable detours, Statsmenn are finally ready with their third album. III will be released in autumn 2026, marking both a continuation and a renewal of the band’s sound.
The past couple of years have brought both highs and lows, as well as the joy of playing live, new encounters and plenty of gigs. In 2025, the band recorded an EP with Per Borten (Spidergawd), while also playing a string of concerts. Although plans for the long-awaited third album were pushed back for various reasons, there is no doubt: Statsmenn are ready!
On III, the band emerges as a fully-fledged power trio. The music is unmistakably Statsmenn, but with a rougher and more direct sound than before. The songs are tighter, the energy more concentrated, while the album also leaves room for quieter passages and more pronounced shifts in dynamics.
Statsmenn have become known for biting, ironic lyrics delivered in a distinctive local rock dialect, and this is carried forward and sharpened on III. The trio format gives the songs greater presence and a more pronounced sense of urgency, resulting in an album that hits harder and stands firmer than before.
Here, the band is united, focused and clearly moving forward. Statsmenn – III will be released in autumn 2026, and this will be celebrated at Tribute on 24 October!
Dolls N' Needles are an alternative rock band from Stavanger.
With visual and artistic live performances, distinctive vocals and strong songs as their trademarks, they have quickly made a unique mark on the local music scene.
The band takes audiences on a journey through the depths of youthful angst and rebellion. Dolls N' Needles draw inspiration from both 1970s psychedelia and 1990s grunge, creating music that they primarily enjoy playing themselves.
Their debut album, The Alien Valley, was released in September 2025 and has received positive reviews from, among others, music critic Geir Flatøe in Stavanger Aftenblad and Totto Mjelde on Stjernepose on NRK P3. Several of the band’s songs have also been recommended by the NRK P3 Urørt editorial team.
