A random jogger is lured into an experiment, where he is pushed physically and mentally to the breaking point. Through tests that push both body and mind, the big questions are asked: What does it mean to be normal? What exactly is perfection? And who has the right to define it?

In the encounter between the cold gaze of science and the will of man to resist, a disturbing game is uncovered in which no one escapes unchanged. As the jogger runs, doubts grow. Is this research, or something far darker?

Thorvald Steen is a renowned Norwegian author, known for texts that often explore identity, history and human vulnerability. He also has his own experience as a top athlete and patient where running has played a central role.

In The Experiment, he continues his investigation of what it means to be human, this time in a scenic experiment where he himself is present through video and sound. Bjørnar Lisether Teigen stands on stage as the random jogger who is drawn into the experiment.
