Zum Hauptinhalt

A little girl lives alone on a skerries, surrounded by an endless ocean. One day, the tide washes a mysterious book ashore – and suddenly the world feels bigger. The pictures in the book show glimpses of something unknown and alluring, and soon she is drawn out to sea.

She drifts across quiet waves, into overgrown forests and down into dark depths, where strange creatures appear. Underwater, she glimpses traces of something that once was. A world that now lies silent, far down there. What she discovers is both beautiful and disturbing. The landscapes change, and the deeper she goes, the stranger everything becomes. But in the midst of the unknown, there are also small glimmers of hope.

Based on the art book Tidevann by Tuva Synnevåg, the performance is told without words, through living shadows, music and movements that allow the images to grow in space. Inspired by Synnevåg’s distinctive expression, a scenic universe is created where light and darkness are constantly in motion.

With modern shadow theatre techniques, moving light sources and different types of figures, the audience gets to experience a world that is constantly changing. The music follows the journey and gives voice to what is not said.

Welcome to a sensual and immersive experience, where the audience is drawn into the world of history.
