Since its premiere at the Folketeateret in 2025, Scenekvelder’s production of *The Book of Mormon* has become a huge sensation: critics are giving it top marks, audiences are raving about the show – and many are coming back time and time again to experience this high-energy musical. The show has developed into a genuine cult phenomenon, and interest shows no sign of waning. It is therefore a great pleasure to take the production, with our fantastic cast and crew, on to Stavanger!
When *The Book of Mormon* comes to Stavanger, it will be presented in a setting the audience has never before experienced at the DNB Arena. Here, the musical’s unique atmosphere will fill the venue, and from the very first moment, the audience will be drawn into the world of the show. The DNB Arena will reveal a whole new side to itself – with an atmosphere and magic that make this a genuine theatre experience.
The musical was written by the creators of South Park – Matt Stone, Robert Lopez and Trey Parker – and has been hailed as a masterpiece of comic genius. It has won no fewer than nine Tony Awards, received rave reviews worldwide and played to full houses on Broadway and in the West End for over a decade. The show is known for its politically incorrect, sharp and boundless humour – a signature style that fans of Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone know well.
*The Book of Mormon* follows the two young Mormon missionaries, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, on their mission to a small village in Uganda. There they encounter a reality filled with challenges they could never have imagined; from disease and famine to local warlords. The culture clash is immense, and the result is an explosion of situations, misunderstandings and comic moments that have had audiences in stitches.
With roars of applause, standing ovations and sold-out theatres night after night, everything is in place for The Book of Mormon to work its musical magic in Stavanger too!
