The Øyo Festival will take place in Haugesund on Friday 16 October and Saturday 17 October 2026. Through film screenings, talks, lectures and debates, the festival highlights the importance of knowledge, community and civic engagement.
The festival is rooted in the need to seek out knowledge, challenge oneself and others, and reflect on what it means to be a citizen in a society. The aim is to create a festival weekend where participants can keep a cool head and a warm heart, whilst being part of a wider community.

Festival programme in Haugesund
The festival opens on Friday 16 October with an evening event and a film screening at Edda Kino.
On Saturday 17 October, the festival continues with a variety of events at both Edda Kino and Haugesund Public Library.
