Released at the end of last year, TIME brings together the poetry of Lars Saabye Christensen and the music of Steinar Raknes. The songs reflect on time in all its dimensions: the time we live in, the time we have, the time we've been given, the time we have left, and the time our planet has left.
Together with some of Norway's finest musicians, Raknes has created a beautifully crafted album inspired by roots music, Americana, the blues and the Norwegian singer-songwriter tradition.
The acoustic ensemble features Steinar Raknes (double bass, vocals), Andreas Utnem (pump organ), Knut Reiersrud (harmonica, guitar), Per Oddvar Johansen (drums, musical saw), and Lars Saabye Christensen (poetry and readings). The album also features harmonica legend Mickey Raphael, best known for his long-standing collaboration with Willie Nelson.
