Vamp have established themselves as one of Norway’s best-loved bands and become part of the nation’s cultural soul. With their distinctive sound, they seek out beauty and power through a hands-on, human approach in an increasingly cold and automated world. For well over three decades, they have delivered hundreds of songs about what it means to be human. Poetry lies at the heart of their lyrics, brought to life through captivating melodies and rich instrumentation.
Vamp were formed in Haugesund in 1991 and are celebrating 35 years on the road.
Their debut album, God Morgen Søster, was released in 1993. It won a Spellemann Award at the first attempt, and the band immediately attracted a large and devoted audience, which they have continued to nurture through extensive touring across the country.
Across 18 album releases, Vamp have sold more than one million records and received five Spellemann Awards, as well as the Prøysen Prize and the Medaas Prize.
With a catalogue brimming with much-loved classics such as Tir n'a Noir, Månemannen, Liten fuggel, Ingeborg, På bredden and 13 humler, Vamp have become a cornerstone of Norwegian music. Their unique ability to blend tradition with contemporary influences has won the hearts of generations of listeners.
