Is there life out there? Will we go to Mars in 2028?

Join Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegaard on a journey through space.

New supertelescopes on the ground and in space are set to revolutionise our knowledge of the Universe. New “windows” into space are giving us unprecedented insight into dramatic, mysterious, and spectacular phenomena. Last year, we found evidence of life on a distant planet and on Mars; this winter, we may discover yet another planet in our Solar System, and we are on the verge of understanding what the Universe is made of and how the first stars and black holes formed.

These new telescopes show us colossal stellar explosions, stars performing cosmic dances and merging, as well as the very first galaxies, supermassive black holes, and stars after the Big Bang. Discoveries – and surprises – are coming fast, revealing new mysteries! Every day we witness black holes forming or merging, and soon we might even detect wormholes – possible shortcuts to other universes!

The morning air is like sea foam.

The day has warmth to rejoice in.

The evening has peace.

But only the night has the cosmos!
